Within each of us lies the desire to find meaning beyond the moment. . .to discover our true selves. . .to grow closer to God and to one another.

What is Spiritual Direction?

Spiritual Direction, sometimes referred to as spiritual guidance or spiritual friendship, has been part of Church tradition for centuries.

Spiritual Direction is an on-going relationship in which one person (the directee) who desires to be attentive to her or his spiritual life, meets with another person (the director) for the purpose of becoming more attuned to God's presence in order to respond more fully to that Presence in all of life.

What Happens in Spiritual Direction?

Spiritual Direction is not counseling, therapy, or advice.

Spiritual Direction is a reflective, comtemplative process.  The focus in Spiritual Direction is always on one's relationship with God.  Simply, Spiritual Direction helps people to tell their own sacred story, and to find the sacred within their story.

Spiritual Direction provides a place for the directee to listen for and discern the often unseen ways God may be at work in her or his life.

*wishes to explore or develop spiritual practice
*wishes to deepen and grow in their relationship to God
*wishes to more fully integrate spirituality into daily life
