And so do I.
I'm conscious of it. My own sin. And the way I ask Jesus to take that too, along with everything else. As with Ignatius of Loyola's Suspice (see Shhhh) on which I'm currently reflecting. It doesn't seem "fair" to my Savior--that as much as I try to patch myself up, He is willing to take me as I am. Such a mess.
Today, Divine Mercy Sunday, we were encouraged with these words: "Take heart. The Lord has always used frail and sinful people to fulfill His purposes."
I was so struck by Thomas's doubt in the Gospel, too. And by what took place when Jesus appeared to all of those disciples--
He said to them, "Peace be with you."
And when He had said this, He showed them both His hands and His side.
